About the Company

Aquacycl is a U.S.-based cleantech company founded in 2016, dedicated to revolutionizing industrial and sanitation wastewater treatment through microbial-electrochemical technology. Using its patented BETT® (BioElectrochemical Treatment Technology) and SulfideFix systems, Aquacycl enables onsite treatment of ultra-high-strength organic wastewater — common in industries like food and beverage — while generating electricity and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional methods. Built as containerized, modular systems, Aquacycl’s solutions are delivered “as a service,” requiring no upfront capital investment, and include performance guarantees, remote monitoring, and maintenance support. Their systems consistently remove over 85% of BOD and TSS, maintaining compliance with discharge regulations, while reducing water and sludge handling costs by 20–60%. In 2024 alone, Aquacycl treated 1.6 million gallons of wastewater, diverted 370,000 pounds of organic waste, mitigated 801 tons of CO₂e, and saved 288,500 kWh of energy. Their vision includes expanding globally — from North America to Europe — and eventually advancing sanitation access in underserved regions.
