Product description

FabBRICK produces tactile bricks using recycled textile waste—shredded cotton, polyester, elastane, PVC—mixed with bio-sourced, eco-friendly glue and mechanically compressed in patented molds sourced from the first prototype in 2016. Each brick incorporates around 2–3 T-shirts worth of fabric and air-dries for 10–15 days, resulting in non-flammable, VOC-A+ rated modules. These bricks deliver excellent thermal and acoustic insulation and come in nine natural colors—no dyes added—reflecting sorted textile tones. The modular, self-locking design enables application in wall cladding, partitions, or bespoke furniture including lamps, shelves, and tables. Production occurs at a Paris-based creative studio, where FabBRICK also offers tailored solutions for commercial interiors. Custom projects include ENEDIS walls at La Défense using 240 kg of workwear, acoustic partitions made from Decathlon scraps, and furniture made from Vinci uniforms, merging narrative and sustainability. With a small team, the studio focuses on craftsmanship, circular economy principles, and aesthetic innovation—turning discarded textiles into functional design pieces that enhance spaces and reduce waste.

About the Company

FabBRICK, based in Paris, transforms textile waste into handcrafted bricks for design and architecture. Founded by architect Clarisse Merlet in 2018, the company repurposes discarded fabrics into aesthetic, thermal and acoustic materials, bound by a bio‑sourced glue—with no added dye or solvent. Produced in a Paris studio employing around ten people, FabBRICK offers customizable color palettes (nine shades from sorted textiles) and shapes adapted to cladding, furniture, or decorative projects. Its eco‑innovative material is non‑flammable, VOC‑A+ rated, and provides both insulation and artistic expression. Collaborating with brands like Levi’s, Decathlon, ENEDIS, Vinci and Galeries Lafayette, FabBRICK’s solutions embody sustainability, circular design, and craftsmanship while diverting textile waste from landfills.
