What I specialize in

Tapiwa Gavaza is a globally recognised authority in the Water Circular Economy (WCE), pioneering transformative approaches to how water is valued, managed, and regenerated across cities, industries, and ecosystems. As Founder and CEO of Water Offsets and author of The Water Paradigm, he operates at the intersection of deep technology, infrastructure, and environmental systems.

His expertise centres on designing integrated circular water systems addressing three defining risks: scarcity, pollution, and flooding. Moving beyond traditional linear models, he develops closed-loop systems that recover, reuse, and regenerate water as a continuous economic and environmental asset.

Central to his work is the 7 Pillars of Water Circularity — combining satellite intelligence, AI-driven digital twins, real-time monitoring, advanced nanotechnology treatment, and community stewardship. Through platforms WaterSPHERE and AquaCITY, he enables predictive, data-driven water management at city and catchment scale.

His work spans Mexico, Malawi, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and Europe, leading programmes in river restoration, water neutrality, and circular urban development.

He is also the architect of Water City, a next-generation model for water-positive urban and industrial development, enabling high-growth sectors to operate sustainably in water-stressed regions. His solutions restore ecosystems while supporting economic growth, repositioning water as a strategic asset and enabling up to 85% wastewater recovery.

Previous projects

Tapiwa Gavaza brings a proven track record of delivering large-scale water solutions across multiple geographies. As Founder and CEO of Water Offsets, his experience spans the full water value chain — from strategy and policy to technology deployment and infrastructure delivery.

In the United Kingdom, he has implemented water neutrality and nutrient neutrality frameworks, contributing to over 4,000 water-neutral homes and commercial developments. His work integrates greywater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and demand-reduction strategies, helping shape one of the most advanced water regulatory environments globally.

Internationally, he leads major water transformation programmes across Mexico, Malawi, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Europe. In Mexico, he contributes to national river restoration efforts, integrating advanced treatment technologies, nature-based systems, and digital water intelligence to address catchment degradation, scarcity, and flooding.

Tapiwa is also the architect of Water City in Hyderabad, India — a 450-acre circular urban-industrial development and global blueprint for water-positive cities, demonstrating how water-stressed regions can support high-growth sectors through zero liquid discharge and advanced reuse.

Through Water Offsets, proprietary technologies — WaterSPHERE, AquaCITY, Rainmaker10, and NANRo — enable cities and industries to recover up to 85% of wastewater, consistently bridging policy, technology, and ecosystem restoration into scalable delivery models.

How can I help you

Tapiwa provides end-to-end strategic, technical, and delivery support — helping companies, communities, cities, and nations transition from linear water use to resilient, circular water systems.

Companies — Tapiwa helps businesses in water-intensive sectors such as manufacturing, real estate, data centres, and energy reduce water risk and achieve operational resilience. He designs circular water strategies minimising freshwater dependency through reuse, recycling, and zero liquid discharge, enabling regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and ESG alignment toward water-positive operations.

Communities — Tapiwa delivers decentralised water systems improving access, affordability, and sustainability. His work focuses on greywater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and localised treatment solutions. By integrating community engagement, he empowers local stakeholders to become active stewards of water resources, improving public health while building long-term resilience.

Cities — Tapiwa designs integrated water circularity strategies addressing scarcity, pollution, and flooding. He combines digital water intelligence — AI, digital twins, real-time monitoring — with infrastructure solutions including wastewater reuse, stormwater management, and nature-based systems, enabling water-neutral or water-positive urban development.

Nations — Tapiwa advises governments on water policy and large-scale transformation programmes, supporting national circular economy strategies, river restoration, and climate resilience plans — integrating deep technology and ecosystem restoration to address systemic water challenges while unlocking economic growth and environmental regeneration.
