Product description

The AfricroozE Solar E-Bike is a groundbreaking solution that combines solar power and electric mobility to address transportation challenges in African urban and rural settings. Developed through a collaboration between Eurist, African partners, and HERO Cycles, this e-bike offers a sustainable and efficient mode of transportation that is tailored to the specific needs of the region.

Equipped with a sturdy steel frame, low step-over height, and a powerful mid-drive motor, the AfricroozE e-bike is designed to handle various terrains and payloads. The integration of solar panels on charging stations or directly on the bike itself extends its range and reduces reliance on grid electricity, making it a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option for commuters, medical delivery personnel, goods transporters, and ride-sharing services.

The pilot project in Jinja, Uganda, supported by KfW, demonstrated the e-bike's effectiveness in improving mobility, reducing emissions, and enhancing access to essential services. With a focus on durability and adaptability, the AfricroozE e-bike can carry loads of up to 100 kg and reach speeds of up to 30 km/h, making it a versatile and practical solution for a wide range of transportation needs.

By promoting gender equity through improved mobility for women and offering health benefits through reduced emissions, the AfricroozE e-bike not only addresses environmental challenges but also contributes to social and economic development in the communities it serves. Through innovative financing models such as microcredit, the e-bike becomes more accessible and affordable, further increasing its impact and reach.

Overall, the AfricroozE Solar E-Bike is a key component of Eurist's strategy to transition to low-carbon, socially inclusive, and context-appropriate mobility solutions, making a significant contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions, improving access to essential services, and supporting local livelihoods.
