Product description

The Western Downs Green Power Hub in Queensland, Australia, is a groundbreaking solar-plus-storage facility developed and operated by Neoen. The project features a massive 460 MWp solar photovoltaic farm with over one million bifacial panels on single-axis trackers, along with a 540 MW / 1,080 MWh grid battery using Tesla Megapack technology. This integrated system stores excess solar energy for dispatch during peak demand or intermittent supply periods, enhancing grid reliability and renewable firming.

By combining solar generation with storage capabilities, the Western Downs Hub provides a stable, dispatchable clean energy supply that supports essential system services. This innovative approach reduces reliance on fossil fuels, contributes to emissions reduction, and promotes energy resilience. The project showcases Neoen's expertise in deploying large-scale renewable solutions to transition toward sustainable power systems.
